Cassidy Colson is from Elizabeth City, North Carolina. When choosing where to go to college, NC State University was “a no-brainer due to the big-school feel and, of course, good ol’ sports.” She came in as a freshman and quickly decided to pursue Public Relations.
Her love of sports led her to intern over the past summer with NC State University Athletics in the marketing department, where she helped set up community events. According to Colson, she “got to see how important community relations is and how truly important it is to connect with publics.” She hopes to continue working with the athletics department at NC State after she graduates. Her dream is to eventually work with a professional team in the NBA.
As NC State University Public Relations Students Society of America’s (NC State PRSSA) Vice President, her duties include writing emails, sending out Google Calendar invitations, and helping other members on the executive board.
She is excited to show her love and passion for NC State PRSSA with new members. She wishes that members would join as early as possible in order to network and make friends. “Even if you can’t see it now, NC State PRSSA will benefit you significantly in the long run,” Colson said.
“All in all, I just want everyone to take advantage of the opportunities within NC State University and within the organization.”
